Gymshorts is a stoner punk band from Providence, Rhode Island. They were the first band to take to the Velvet Underground stage on August 10 for a fun show for a small but enthusiastic Toronto crowd.

I liked their energetic, fuck-mom-and-dad punk rock delivered in a style that reminded me of the best of my favourite 80s hardcore bands. They have a very cool tongue-in-cheek stage presence that was tons of fun and I'd see this band again any time.

You can pick up their album No Backsies and their new EP Wet Willy at their Bandcamp.

Check out some of their music:

"Oh Brother"

"Copy Cat" and "Hey Parents"
