Osheaga 2017: Day 2: Broken Social Scene, Pup, Cage The Elephant, Liam Gallagher, Dawes and more - Concert Photos

The fine folks at Canadian Beats asked me to come along and cover Osheaga with them. The chance to attend and photograph the biggest festival of my experience was one I couldn't turn down. In spite of the rain, I had a great time and would cover the festival again in a heartbeat. I loved the overall vibe of the festival, the amazing performers and I always love Montreal.

New music from Dawes: When The Tequila Runs Out from We're All Gonna Die

Soulful LA rockers Dawes have just announced that their next album, called We’re All Gonna Die, is coming out on September 16. We get to hear “When the Tequila Runs Out” now.

It’s a light-hearted party song about that inevitable moment when the liquor of choice for the night runs out and you have to switch to something else, complete with slow-mo party scenes.

I’ve seen this band twice now and they are one of the most solid and entertaining live bands out there, with musicianship and amazing tunes to spare. Check them out if you get the chance. Best of: My favourite albums of 2015

As I mentioned in my favourite songs of 2015 post, I somehow feel like I missed a lot of music in 2015. In spite of that, I was still able to pull together a pretty solid top 20 list for my favourite albums of the year.

Best of: My favourite songs of 2015

I feel like 2015 has flown by and I have missed a lot of the music it had to offer. I've seen a lot of shows by a lot of great bands. Not as many as in 2014 mind you, and I've purposely slowed down in the past month or so, but still a lot. There's so much great music that was produced this year, and there's so much that I've yet to discover. Every year, I bookmark the best of lists from other sites and I don't look at any of them until after my own list is up. Most years, I don't get through reading all the others, either.
