The Candescents at The Opera House - Concert Photos

Columbus Ohio's The Candescents were in Toronto with Pale Waves for a show at The Opera House. I caught this same pair of bands back about a year ago when they played The Baby G. Check out my photos of both The Candescents and Pale Waves from that show.

What a difference a year makes! This time, The Candescents have music out that I can share with you. The band put on a fun show featuring their chiming guitars, hook-filled chord progressions, easy-going vocals and head-nodding beats.

The Candescents at The Baby G - Concert Pictures

Columbus Ohio band The Candescents took to the stage at The Baby G second and were the band standing between the crowd and Pale Waves. A somewhat enviable position as they had all eyeballs on them, but everyone wanted to see and hear Manchester's newest export.

On this first trip outside of the U.S.A. for the band's singer, they engaged with indie-alt-rock sounds that veered from heavier sounds to 50s-influenced structures and Police-style chorused riffs. Unfortunately, I can't find any music from the band to share with you.
