As soon as the lights dimmed and the start of Abba's "Dancing Queen" rang out, the dancing started. Maggie and her beautiful band kept the vibes ecstatic and the crowd engaged for the whole night.
Maggie told us a lot about this tour and Toronto. We heard that this Echo Beach show is Maggie's biggest headlining show to date. That's pretty cool. Maggie told us that Toronto was the first audience that sang her lyrics back to her, and how she'll always remember that. That's even cooler. Maggie seemed genuinely humbled by the overwhelming crowd response to her words and music.
The energy and pace ebbed and flowed throughout the set, keeping things interesting. Slower songs were mixed in with the higher energy numbers and the audience sang along to all of it.
After the main set, Maggie returned to the stage for a powerful, a cappella encore tune. While her vocal was perfect, I couldn't help but wonder, damn, why can’t people shut up?
