I tend to love covers that are a complete counterpoint to the original tune. Here's a great example by members of the beautiful Chvrches doing a gentle version of Rage Against the Machine's over-the-top rant "Killing in the Name".

What an interesting combination...
Here's a very varied bunch of tunes that my smart playlist served up today.
"Wake Up" by Rage Against the Machine
"Grandloves" by Purity Ring, and
"Someone Who's Cool" by Odds

Favourites: KISS my ass
Get yer metal on!
Here's a cover version of KISS' "Calling Dr. Love" from years ago. It's by Shandi's Addiction, who is Maynard James Keenan of Tool on lead vocals, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave on guitar, Billy Gould of Faith No More on bass, and Brad Wilk of Rage and Audioslave bashing the kit. Now that's a supergroup. Killer.
And here's Anthrax covering "She", also from years ago. Some amazingly stupid drumrolls. Oh yeah! And one of the best guitar riffs ever. Ace Frehley is a guitar god.
Both of these tracks are from a tribute album called Kiss My Ass: Classic Kiss Regrooved that came out in 1994.
