TURF 2015: Day 3 Compendium - Concert Pictures

The end of The Toronto Urban Roots Festival always brings mixed emotions. There's the exhaustion that comes from shooting over thirty bands in just a few days, the looming task of going through thousands of pictures to find the right ones to post and the elation of having seen some incredible bands in a fantastic, downtown Toronto setting, at an amazingly well-run festival with a wonderful vibe.

TURF 2015 Day 3: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club on the East Stage - Concert Pictures

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club braved the strong late afternoon / early evening sunshine in black leather, as you'd expect. They graced the East Stage at The Toronto Urban Roots Festival on the third day of the fest.

I was first introduced to BRMC through their appearance in the movie 9 Songs. They played "Whatever Happened to My Rock and Roll" and "Love Burns". I'd never seen this band live before and I dug their live presentation of their straight-up hard alternative rock. This was their last show before going away to work on a new album.

New Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are a band that I really should love. They've got driving beats, loud guitars, they're British and they write good ol' rock songs. But for whatever reason, they've never fully grabbed my attention.

Here are a couple of new tracks that just might do the trick. Time will tell. The first song is called "Let The Day Begin" and the lyric video is for "Returning". Both are from their new album Specter at the Feast, which is out March 18.
