Dublin, Ireland's Little Green Cars came through Toronto last night in support of their latest album Ephemera. They delivered their beautiful melodies and exquisite harmonies to a crowd of fans at Lee's Palace. Highlights for me were my favourite Little Green Cars song "The John Wayne" plus "Harper Lee" and "Big Red Dragon" (although I'm not sure if my memory is playing tricks on me and maybe they didn't actually play both of these tunes).

They ended their main set with "Easier Day" from Ephemera before returning for an encore. They closed out the show by coming down into the middle of the dance floor and playing "The Factory" completely acoustically. The rousing refrain of the song carried through Lee's Palace and was a perfect ending for the show.

New music from Little Green Cars: Easier Day and The Song They Play Every Night from Ephemera

Little Green Cars are releasing their new album Ephemera on March 11. Here are two tunes. "Easier Day" is a more upbeat indie-rock number while "The Song They Play Every Night" has a more downbeat acoustic vibe that picks up in intensity as it progresses. They've got a Toronto tour stop at Lee's Palace on April 27. I hope to be there.

And here are a couple of my favourites from 2013's Absolute Zero

Little Green Cars

I've had a note to check out Little Green Cars that dates back to at least October of 2012. I tell you, it's not a lack of music to listen to or good music to write about that limits me to one post a day, it's time. Time to check out all the stuff that sounds like it would be cool to listen to, and time to write it all up.

But whether I'm late to the party (quite often) or ahead of the curve (very rarely), I do get around to listening to a lot of cool music.

Little Green Cars are from Dublin and their debut full-length Absolute Zero came out at the end of March, so I guess I'm not that late. They perform high-energy, indie pop music with lots of heart and huge harmonies.

Take a listen to "The John Wayne",

their latest single "Big Red Dragon", and

"Harper Lee".
