What is it with the month of May and Veruca Salt? Probably nothing, but it's now May and I've got two new Veruca Salt tunes to post. It was last May when I posted "The Museum of Broken Relationships", their first new tune in 15 years. And it was May of 2013, when I was inspired to post my favourite Veruca Salt tunes.
Now they've announced that they'll be releasing a new album called Ghost Notes on July 10. It's their first album with the original line-up since Eight Arms to Hold You. It was produced by the same guy that produced their début American Thighs, Brad Wood.
They've announced some new tour dates through July and just into August, including a stop here in Toronto on July 28 at Lee's Palace. I've got to get to that one!
Check out these two new tunes. They rock.

New music from Veruca Salt
Veruca Salt are cool. I fondly remember being blown away by their 1994 album American Thighs and their 1997 powerhouse Bob Rock produced album Eight Arms to Hold You. Well now they've released a new single featuring the classic "Seether" and two new tunes. Check out one of those new tunes, the first new Veruca Salt in 15 years, in the new clip for "The Museum of Broken Relationships".
It rocks! Definitely a keeper.
The original line up is working on a new album and is hitting the road this summer. Sadly for us Torontonians, the only Canadian tour stop is in Vancouver.

Veruca Salt rock!
Veruca Salt is an alternative rock band that was formed in 1993. Named after the bratty girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, their début, American Thighs, came out in 1994 and I'm sure you know songs like "Seether" and "Number One Blind". Their second album, Eight Arms to Hold You, came out in 1997 and was absolutely incredible. It was produced by Bob Rock, who gave it his signature huge sound, and it was good. Songs like "Volcano Girls", "Awesome", "The Morning Sad", "With David Bowie", and "Stoneface" were, and still are, in my not-so-humble opinion, amazing.
Nina Gordon left soon after, there were reunions and stuff that I don't know much about, and apparently they just announced in March that they've reunited again. I'd catch this band live in the right venue, for sure.
