Riverfest Elora 2016: Day 3: Band 4: Reuben and The Dark - Concert Pictures

It's been a couple of years since I saw Reuben and The Dark for the first time at Field Trip. I caught their main stage set at Riverfest Elora on Sunday, August 21. They're from Calgary and they play a cool indie folk/soul music. I enjoyed their mellow intensity with songs that continue to grow on me every time I hear them. The music unveils its multiple layers through varied instrumentation and the choruses become more rousing with repeated exposure.

I wrote a post about Reuben and the Dark last month and said I was looking forward to seeing them live at Field Trip. Well, their emotive sounds, beautiful harmonies and great tunes did not disappoint. Check out some tunes below and pick up their album Funeral Sky. It's out now.

Reuben and the Dark

I almost saw Reuben and the Dark when they opened for The Darcy's at Lee's Palace a while back. Alas, I did not make it to the show. But I did check out Reuben and the Dark's music.

Their début album Funeral Sky comes out May 27 on Arts & Crafts. Check out some cool tunes.
