Riverfest Elora 2025: A compendium of posts - Concert Photos

Another Riverfest Elora is in the books. This 2025 edition, which marked the 15th edition of the festival, was fantastic. Not only is it the chillest and friendliest festival around, it features a wide range of musical talent, some of which are destined to be your new favourite bands, along with delicious food and drinks, artisans, merch and random art in an idillic setting. And, the rain restricted itself to an overnight storm this year.

Riverfest Elora 2025: Silversun Pickups on the Main Stage - Concert Photos

Los Angeles California alt rock band Silversun Pickups had the Friday night headlining spot at this year's Riverfest Elora. I love this band's sound and energy. Their set included some of my favourite tunes, like "Panic Switch" and of course "Lazy Eye". They even played a bit of "Crazy Train" no doubt as a tribute to the late, great Ozzy Osbourne.

New Silversun Pickups

Silversun Pickups have a new album called Neck of the Woods coming out May 8. They've put the first song out for our listening pleasure. It's called "Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)" and it sounds good.



And here's the first Silversun Pickups song I ever heard "Lazy Eye".

Emerging: An Horse

An Horse, is an Australian band that I became aware of in the past several months. I think it was a blog post over at Chromewaves that first mentioned the band to me.

The first song I heard was the first single, "Camp Out". There's video of it being performed on Letterman. Based on the strength of that track and the samples on iTunes, I picked up the album.

Here's the official "Camp Out" video. Great song.


Overall, the album is very strong. The simple instrumentation and strong vocals really make the songwriting shine through. Their latest single is "Postcards".

An Horse are in Toronto opening for Cage the Elephant and Silversun Pickups on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Sound Academy.  Tour dates at the bands' sites.
