I first saw Whitney Rose opening for Lake Street Dive at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto about two years ago. Those pics are here.

This time, it was the main stage of Riverfest Elora on Saturday, August 20 that hosted Whitney and her excellent band. She and the band do what they do very well; deliver classic country tunes with her likeable personality shining through with laid back fun. They've got a new record coming in a couple of months and we got to hear a new song called "My Boots".

Give her music a listen:

"Chivalry Is Dead"

"Heartbreaker of the Year"

"The Devil Borrowed My Boots"

I caught Whitney Rose opening for Lake Street Dive at The Danforth Music Hall. I was impressed with her music, her presence and her voice. I even took pics.

She's just announced a new album Heartbreaker of the Year coming out April 21 on Cameron House Records. Coincidentally, that very night, she's playing The Horseshoe Tavern to celebrate. Tickets available now from Ticketfly.

Check out a couple of tunes below. Both "Little Piece of You" and "Lasso" deliver a modern and unique take on country music that respects all of the traditional elements. More videos will follow...

Take a listen and get your tickets:

Whitney Rose at The Danforth Music Hall

Whitney Rose and guitarist Nichol Robertson warmed up the crowd at the Danforth Music Hall before Lake Street Dive took the stage. She brought East coast charm, her powerful voice and beautiful songs out for us all to enjoy. She also shaved her legs; something the boys in the front row must have appreciated.
Whitney is a great performer who played tunes from her own albums, covers of Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colours" and the old standard, "Blue Moon", as well as music from the new album she has just recently finished recording.
Check out a couple of Whitney's tunes:

"Chivalry is Dead"

"The Devil Borrowed My Boots Last Night"
