TURF 2015: Day 2 Compendium - Concert Pictures

Day 2 of The Toronto Urban Roots Festival took place on September 19. Rain threatened and then followed through on the threat during The Strumbellas' set. It dampened us but not our spirits as the day continued with more of the fantastic music and festival atmosphere that we have grown to expect at TURF.

TURF 2015 Day 2: The River and the Road on the South Stage - Concert Pictures

​The River and the Road are a folk-rock band that formed in Vancouver. I got to see them perform on the south stage on day two of The Toronto Urban Roots Festival. They've got the perfect sound for this festival and should be reaching wider and wider audiences. I like their melodic folk/rock/country/Americana sound and songs. Their newest album Headlights is out now.

I got to meet them later in the day at the media tent as they were doing an interview for satellite radio. Then the skies opened up and they scurried off to see if their gear was properly protected from the elements. Probably a very good idea given the downpour we were experiencing at that time.
