New York duo Overcoats and their band played Toronto's Danforth Music Hall, opening up for Two Door Cinema Club. Check out those photos right here. I'd actually seen Overcoats perform in Toronto before, when they appeared at Field Trip in 2017. Those photos are here.

Overcoats perform deeply personal and intimate-sounding tunes that feature soaring vocals and tender melodies with wonderful harmonies, sprinkled liberally with infectious beats, cool grooves and addictive hooks.

Please check out some of their music below:

"Leave the Light On"

"I Don't Believe in Us"

"The Fool"

Field Trip 2017: Day 1 - Concert Photos

Another Field Trip has come to an end and what an amazing festival it was. These are my photos from Day 1. Click here to check out my pics from Day 2.

Broken Social Scene headlined the first day of this year's Field Trip with an awesome set featuring so many of my favourites, "Cause=Time", "7/4 Shoreline", "Ibi Dreams Of Pavement (A Better Day)", "Superconnected" and set closer "KC Accidental". Of course, the stage was littered with special guests including Feist, Emily Haines, Torquil Campbell, Amy Millan, and James Shaw. Always a heartwarming, uplifting and joyful experience!

I love the music of Cloud Nothings so I loved hearing a bit of their set including "I'm Not Part of Me".

Portugal. The Man started off with some of "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and continued with a heavier live sound than I would have expected. They successfully rode the line of danceable and rock and delivered a very impressive set.

Tei Shi brought an energetic set of danceable fun tunes.

Matt Mays is a definite favourite with his hard rocking power pop tunes. I love his music, especially hits like "Indio" and "Take It On Faith".

Royal Canoe delivered their unique and intricate soundscapes.

Joseph played high energy, countrified and slide guitar infused tunes highlighting the vocal melodic and harmonious talents of the three sisters/singers from Portland Oregon.

Bernice played soothing and ethereal tunes.

Overcoats had great harmonies and strong melodies.

Yoke Lore have a big sound and tunes with big catchy choruses perfect for shouting along.

Harrison dealt out his cool vibes and Walrus from Halifax got things going with powerful but melodic songs.
