Brave Shores and a sunny festival Saturday at Field Trip were a perfect match. The band brought their laid back, dreamy and easy going tunes, plus the addictive single "Never Come Down".

I first heard of Brave Shores as I'm sure many others have - from their most excellent, hook-filled and funky single "Never Come Down". I caught their live show at Harbourfront Centre as part of Panamania during the Pan Am Games. I caught this show at The Phoenix Concert Theatre as they opened for Wolf Alice. They had the crowd swaying to their dreamy, synth laden tunes.

Of course, their proper set ended with the groove and hooks, the perfect piece of pop that is "Never Come Down". They then played us a brand new tune because they finished early. Don't worry. It happens to everyone now and then. Fun show.

Here are some tunes:

Hot off their appearance at the Wayhome Festival, Brave Shores played the Ontario Celebration Zone at Harbourfront Centre for a free show as part of Panamania, opening for The Beaches.

The crowd was pretty sedate, content to sit on the AstroTurf while soaking up the summery melodies and the cool breeze off the lake. Their sound can be described as a combination of chill vibes and higher energy from their upbeat new tunes. Of course the highlight was their big ear candy single "Never Come Down". Great tune!

Summertime pop from Brave Shores

Brave Shores are Toronto siblings Jay and Stefanie McCarrol. They create catchy electropop music perfect for dancing and generally enjoying like your favourite ice cold drink on a hot summer day.

Their EP came out back in October and they are appearing at The Mod Club on May 8 for CMW.

Their current single, "Never Come Down", is a pop gem, an earworm of the highest order, and a song that deserves to be heard everywhere this summer.
