This year marked my first time attending and covering Riverfest Elora. It was a fun, well organized and well curated festival that I'll certainly have in my calendar for next year. I recommend you do, too!
Check out some shots I took around the festival and click through to the individual posts on each artist that I caught at Riverfest.
St. John's Newfoundland indie pop band Hey Rosetta! play grand music with multiple layers of instrumentation, melody and emotion. I've been lucky enough to photograph them twice before, the first time at TURF 2014 and the second time when they opened for Stars at Danforth Music Hall in 2015. Click those links for those photos.
This time they were on the main stage at Riverfest Elora. They had an enthusiastic audience gathered around to take in their show. A few fans lit sparklers to up the celebratory vibes. Hey Rosetta's set was solid with great tunes and inspired performances.

And here are some of the acts that I'm looking forward to seeing.
Hey Rosetta! have been opening for Stars on their current tour. They were in Toronto for a 3-day residency at The Danforth Music hall. I caught the show on Friday the 13th. They played a full hour set, so I'd say it's more of a "sharing the bill" situation than an "opening for" arrangement. Pretty cool for all the Hey Rosetta! fans and a great treat for those who are being introduced to this great band.
This marked my second time shooting they dynamic Newfoundland band, although this indoor show was a very different shooting experience from outdoors at TURF. They played a set that spanned their album releases and highlighted their most recent release, Second Sight.
Hey Rosetta! provide plenty of musical variety, building on they typical guitar, bass, drums, keys arrangements with French horn, violin, cello and more keys. This band overflows with musical talent but excels on making it listenable and fun.
Take a listen to some of the highlights from their setlist.
