Fredericton, New Brunswick's Motherhood played their quirky, inventive, genre-hopping tunes at Bovine Sex Club on April 21 for CMW 2017. The songs were ever-shifting with time changes and a surprise around every corner. It was impossible to predict the next scream or flourish or noodle or power chord.
Incredible Woman from St. John's Newfoundland put on a captivating show at The Bovine Sex Club on April 21 for CMW 2017.
They deal in massive intensity, unrelenting raw power and aggression. They've got a tight rhythm section for the guitarist and vocalist to really let loose over.
Just the sound check sounded awesome and unique. That gave me my first hint that Bitch Falcon was going to be something special; something heavy and melodic and intense. They came all the way from Dublin, Ireland to dole out their unique brand of heavy rock noise. And it was good.
That grime from the guitar and bass along with the solid insistent drums. Oh. My. Fuck. The power and intensity and originality was incredible. The vocalist's attitude and the tempo shifts. It all came together to absolutely blow my mind. I officially love this band and I can't wait to see them again.
On April 21, at the venerable Bovine Sex Club, Bitch Falcon officially became my favourite discovery of CMW 2017.
Give them a listen and don't miss a chance to see them live!
Brooklin, Ontario's Critical Hit! were the first up at The Bovine Sex Club for CMW 2017 on April 21. Their sound brought me back to my hardcore-loving high school days, back when TOHC meant something and FTW meant something different.
Critical Hit! laid out their furious riffing, frantic drumming, massive distortion, gang vocals and grimy bass to warm us up for a night of heavy rock.
