After a bit of a delay caused by gremlins in the pedalboard, the band kicked off their set and gave us musical beauty, songs of expansive rhythms and melodies that build and rise to crescendo, soothing sounds layered with love. We heard a handful of songs from the new album, with songs from across the band's catalog, including some personal favourites. I loved the show.
This was my third time witnessing the beauty of a Warpaint live performance. My photos from The Danforth Music Hall in 2016 and Adelaide Hall in 2015 are here and here.
I highly recommend Warpaint if you're not already familiar with them. Here's a track from Radiate Like This and a personal favourite.
"Champion"
"Love Is To Die"
The show was opened by Belief, Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa's side project with Boom Bip. They got the crowd grooving along to their addictive beats. Their eponymous debut is out now. Check out a tune below.
"Dreams"
