NXNE 2016: Screaming Females at The Silver Dollar Room - Concert Pictures

I was blown away by Screaming Females when I saw them at The Garrison last year. Take a peek at my shots from that show here. I vowed to catch them again whenever possible. Although it was after a long day in the sun at Portlands, I managed to keep my commitment by heading up to The Silver Dollar Room to catch Screaming Females' NXNE show.

The hard rocking power trio is from New Brunswick, New Jersey. Singer/guitarist Marissa Paternoster is a powerful front for the band with strong, emotive vocals and some of my favourite guitar tone and playing ever. She's a wicked guitarist and I love hearing her play. And that sound that she coaxes from that roaring amp is something to behold. Absolutely mind-blowingly good. Her rhythm section of King Mike on bass and Jarrett Dougherty on drums completes the sound while complementing it completely.

​This show was all about heat and sweat and monstrously loud rock. We got plenty of that guitar tone that sends me over the edge. They finished with an incredible burn out ending with more guitar pyrotechnics than most audiences can handle and even fewer guitarists can deliver. Screaming Females are such a powerhouse live band.
