I caught their show at The Danforth Music Hall last week. The music defies genre. Sure, there's a ton that can be generically categorized as "indie", which is a largely meaningless term, like alternative, that just tries to separate the music of the 90s through today from the music from the 70s and 80s, but these guys bring something unique to the indie-alternative-hipster-jam genre.
The audience seemed to know every word and, for a newcomer, the band seemed to exude some kind of crazy likability. There was lots of fun interaction between band members as they doled out their tunes. Their tunes have lots of interesting shifts and moves, with false endings to keep us all interested. And the whirling dances keep things visually interesting. Fun band.
Check out some tunes from their set:
"Cocaine Jesus"
"Fever Pitch"
"Bare Bones"
"Devil Like Me"
