There's something about classic and really well-written tunes sung by Choir! Choir! Choir! that is just magical. On the surface, I didn't know that I'd like it, but I found myself just watching YouTube video after YouTube video of the excellent arrangements and amazing singing of this group. And so I wanted to make sure that I heard them live, in the relaxing oasis of the South Stage of The Toronto Urban Roots Festival.

I caught a few of their tunes, then ran away to photograph Passenger, then ran back to catch the end of their set. They started with Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" followed by Blur's "Boys and Girls". I got back for an absolutely beautiful rendition of Simon and Garfunkel's "America" that brought a tear to my eye and their finale of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline". Amazing!

And I don't know if they played this tune, but I love their version of Alvvays' "Archie, Marry Me"
