Sleater-Kinney formed in Olympia Washington in 1994. They put out 7 studio albums filled with incredible tunes and have achieved legendary status in alternative music circles. They put it all on hold in 2006 and regrouped earlier this year. They're releasing a new album called No Cities to Love on January 20 of next year and have some tour dates planned for February and March.
In the meantime, they've allowed us to listen to some of the new tunes. Here are "Surface Envy" and
"Bury Our Friends". Check them out:

New video from Gary Clark Jr. When My Train Pulls In
Austin blues guitar god Gary Clark Jr. has just released a video for "When My Train Pulls In" from his recently released Live album.
Gary's a powerful live performer so if you get the chance, I'd say see him live.

New video from Johnny Marr: Dynamo
A straight-up rocker from The Smiths former guitarist Johnny Marr? Sounds good to me. It's "Dynamo" from his second solo album Playland.
And just because I've never posted it, here's the clip for "Easy Money".

Dry the River at The Horseshoe
English band Dry the River stopped by Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on their tour supporting their August release Alarms In The Heart. I found their music to invoke words like beautiful, dynamic, soaring and choral.
I was so thankful that Peter Liddle called out the chatty in the crowd by suggesting that if they want to have a conversation they could to go the other room. This is one of my personal pet peeves and when you see a band with as much dynamic range as Dry the River, the chatty in the crowd interfere more than usual. When you go to see a live band in a venue like The Horseshoe, I think you should pay them some respect by actually listening to them.
Here are some highlights from their setlist.
