Split Single catch up

Jason Narducy's power pop project Split Single with Jon Wurster and Britt Daniel has a great album called Fragmented World that came out earlier this year. They recently released a video for the tune "Monolith". Check it out! It's a great tune!

The band also performed a brand new tune called "Glori" on KEXP. Give 'er a listen! It's got me looking forward to the second Split Single album already.

And they covered TV on the Radio's "Wolf Like Me" for AV Club.

I really want to see this band live. My pic above is of Jason playing with Bob Mould at Riot Fest.

New music from The Districts

I saw The Districts at The Horseshoe when they opened for White Denim. I was blown away. The band is young and energetic but the passion and soul they put into their music is timeless. They've got a new album coming out February 10 called A Flourish and A Spoil.

Lucky for us, we don't have to wait until the cold depths of February to hear some new Districts music. We get to hear the first single, "4th and Roebling", right now. Take a listen to the great, dynamic, rockin' blues tune now:

Lowell's post-birthday Noisemakers session

Chart Attack does this thing called Noisemakers. Lowell did a session, just after her birthday, earlier in November. It features cool renditions of "Cloud 69" and "Palm Trees" from her full-length album We Loved Her Dearly.

She's on tour with Generationals and stops in at The Garrison in Toronto on December 5.

New Twilight Sad: Last January

The Twilight Sad recently released a new album called Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave. They played in Toronto a couple of weeks ago with We Were Promised Jetpacks. Sadly, I couldn't go to the show.

They've just released a video for the tune "Last January" from the new album. It's a deep, dark, classic Twilight Sad tune. Take a long listen:

New Little Foot Long Foot EP Woman

I caught Little Foot Long Foot for the first time during 2013's Indie Week. I was blown away by their powerful blues-rock sound, their songs and their musicianship. They've got a new EP coming out on November 18 called Woman. It sounds like another dose of powerful riffs and melodic heaviness. Check out the lyric video for the title track below and check out a stream of the whole thing over at Exclaim.

These guys excel on stage so go see them live. The EP release party is on December 6 at Cherry Cola's in Toronto.
