Waxahatchee is Katie Crutchfield. She's from Alabama and she writes emotional, introspective music whose delivery ranges from a whisper to a scream. Her debut was recorded in her bedroom and called
American Weekend. Her second album,
Cerulean Salt came out in 2013.
Now Waxahatchee has a new album on the way called
Ivy Tripp and it comes out April 7.
