Wintersleep at Lee's Palace - Concert Pictures

My concert photography started as a joke. Now that I no longer consider it a joke, I long to photograph those bands that I shot with my Blackberry, iPod touch and even my point and shoot with my good gear and improved skills. I first saw Wintersleep live when they opened for Frightened Rabbit in 2013. On Friday March 4 I got the chance to redeem myself.

Wintersleep released their new album The Great Detachment on the very same day they played a fantastic, sold-out show at Toronto's Lee's Palace. The band was in excellent form and the audience were super-excited for the solid set that they would receive.

Their set featured a good number of favourites from across their discography. Highlights for me were the all time favourites "Archaeologists", "Weighty Ghost" and "Oblivion" from Welcome To The Night Sky all the way to new favourites like "Santa Fe", "Amerika" and "Territory" from their latest. "Laser Beams" and set closing tune "Miasmal Smoke and The Yellow Bellied Freaks" were also highlights. I loved that I got to hear "In Came The Flood" in the encore.

I'm so glad I got to catch this show and to redeem my original Wintersleep photos.
