When the Royal Mountain Records BBQ was announced, there was a conspicuous spot for a Surprise Special Guest. Lots of speculation was circulated, but it became 100% definite once we arrived and saw Hollerado gear on stage. Hollerado are always a ton of fun to see live and with this being one of their last gigs, it was extra special.
Overall, I would love to see more shows like this. The backyard BBQ atmosphere had such a great vibe with a perfect, sunny summer day, great beer and delicious tacos, mixed in with amazing bands, their diverse tunes and a great, friendly crowd.
Hollerado played a set of:
"Americanarama"
"I Got You"
"Eloise"
"Time on Earth" from their latest and final album Retaliation Vacation, about spending time with your friends before you die
"Good Day at the Races"
"Born Yesterday"
"So it Goes"
and a cover of "Dammit" by Blink 182
I've captured Hollerado a few times before. Most recently just before new year's at Lee's Palace, last summer at Hillside and the summer before at Riverfest Elora. I'm looking forward to capturing their last show at The Danforth Music Hall this December.
