As with every Frank Turner performance, we're reminded of the two rules. Rule #1, don't be a dickhead and Rule #2, sing along if you know the words. It's pretty straightforward, but they're exactly the rules needed for a fun evening enjoying Frank Turner tunes.
His set featured "Mittens", a rousing cover of Frightened Rabbit's "The Modern Leper", the first song from the very first gig "Romantic Fatigue" since it was the twentieth anniversary of the first show, "Dan's Song" with Henry Rollins on harmonica and closed with a cover of Queen's "Somebody to Love", amongst other amazing tunes.
Please check out my previous coverage of Frank Turner from performances at History in 2023, at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre in 2019, at The Phoenix Concert Theatre in 2018, at Massey Hall in 2016, at The Danforth Music Hall in 2016 and at TURF back in 2013.
All of my Lost Evenings VII coverage is consolidated into one post that you can find here, containing links to my coverage of each artist I photographed at the festival.
