I had heard raves about King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and their live show. I've been enjoying their music for a while now and was ready to see them live. Or so I thought. Be forewarned - once this band starts playing the audience turns into a sweating, churning, surging mass of unconstrained energy. It's something to behold and to be part of, but it's a little rough trying to get a photo in.

The band, and the crowd, give off a crazy energy. Their tunes feature relentless beats and psychedelic instrumental meanderings, even going so far as to border on jazz, without ever letting up on the intensity. The music does feature dynamic shifts and long jams that keep things interesting, although, as mentioned, the overall intensity stays high.

Check out some of King Gizzard's tunes and experience the band on stage.
