The band plays with what looks like vintage 70s department store guitars, and they sound great. They look glam with the glitter, leopard print pants and Ace Frehley's Christmas sweater. They sound like 70s garage rock mashed up with 90s grunge and alternative rock. They've got cool stage presence and handled themselves well with every musician's nightmare -- gear issues. In all, The Effens are pretty amazing. From a first listen to their songs as they flowed from the stage, I came away impressed and hungry for more. Can't wait to see this band again.
