I've seen Diiv a couple of times before and I always appreciate their laid back and hypnotizing indie rock sounds. They were the first band I caught after returning to Field Trip after the thunderstorm delay. Yes, sadly I didn't make it back to see Charles Bradley.

The festival decided, rightly, to err on the side of caution and evacuate the site just before thunderstorms rolled in. They then had to assess incoming weather systems, negotiate a curfew extension with the City and reschedule as many acts as possible. Not an easy task and I think festival organizers did a great job balancing safety with attendees' desire to catch the second day of programming. With the tragic events at Rock Am Ring on the same weekend and the cancellation of Sunday's programming at Governor's Ball, safety was top of mind, as it should be.

Diiv talked about waiting at their hotel for word on whether they would perform or not as they delivered a consistent set of great tunes, as they always do. Their setlist included my favourites like "How Long Have You Known?", "Sometime", and "Doused".

"Under the Sun"
